The Colleges That Change Lives Scholarship was established in 2016 to honor the 20th anniversary of the publication of the first edition of Loren Pope’s classic book and the 10th anniversary of the non-profit organization, Colleges That Change Lives.
Since first appearing in 1996, four versions of Colleges That Change Lives have been published, each update offering valuable insights about the college search, as well as profiles of 40 small, residential, liberal arts schools that deliver a quality education to thousands of students each year. The non-profit College That Change Lives organization is dedicated to preserving and promoting the book’s message, and this scholarship is yet another way to ensure that the CTCL experience becomes a reality for even more students.
In 2017 the Colleges That Change Lives Scholarship will be awarded for $1,000 per year, renewable for up to four years with a maximum award of $4,000 per student. New first-year students, including international students and undocumented students, are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Awards will be given only to those students who choose to attend a CTCL-member college or university.
- Applications must be submitted by March 1, 2017 (Midnight, Pacific Standard Time).
- To complete the application, copies of admission letter(s) from at least one CTCL-member school must be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than April 7, 2017.
- Applicants will be notified by email on April 20, 2017.
The CTCL Board reviews the applications and selects the recipients. The number of scholarships awarded will be determined by the number of qualified applicants and the funds available at the time. Please contact Executive Director Maria Furtado with questions (727.465.8005).
