• Guilford’s 350-acre campus includes a farm, a small lake, meadows, and woods with trees more than 300 years old. Produce grown on the Farm is served in our Dining Hall and shared with the community. Two hundred solar panels produce 9,000 gallons of hot water each day, further reducing our carbon footprint. And because of our dedication to sustainability, we’ve been included in The Princeton Review’s Guide to 353 Green Colleges.
• Guilford’s study abroad options introduce participants to new ways of living, working, and learning, like spending a semester in a 12^th-century castle in the Italian Alps, a nationally recognized program. You’ll learn to navigate uncertainty, engage the unfamiliar, and collaborate with individuals from different cultures. And with the new Guilford Edge curriculum, each semester features a three-week period dedicated to a single, intensive course, including a variety of study-away options.
• Guilford awards scholarships and grants to 100 percent of the student body. There are merit scholarships ranging from $5,000 to $25,000; need-based aid ranging from $5,000 to $12,000. Additionally, Guilford awards a grant to everyone that submits a FAFSA and offers institutional need-based aid to students not eligible to file the FAFSA. The Quaker Leadership Scholars Program, based on the student’s interest in the Religious Society of Friends, leadership, and academic potential, provides a grant of up to $3,500 per year.
• Guilford is also home to the Bryan Series, which has welcomed such distinguished visitors as Tony Blair, Madeleine Albright, Toni Morrison, Leslie Odom Jr., Amal Clooney, Itzhak Perlman, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Students get a front-row seat to fascinating and inspiring Q&A sessions that occur on campus with speakers.

• Guilford has 177 full-time faculty, creating a 14:1 student-to-faculty ratio. There are 40-plus majors and 50-plus minors to choose from, with the most popular majors being Psychology, Business Management, Biology, Criminal Justice, Health Sciences, and Sport Management. Unique majors include Sustainable Food Systems, Peace and Conflict Studies, and Community and Justice Studies.
• Unique and rewarding hands-on learning experiences include the Guilford Undergraduate Symposium for student research; the Honors Program, a supportive community for students who demonstrate a commitment to achieving academic excellence; and a variety of opportunities and events available through the Intercultural Engagement Center.
• Guilford’s Center for Principled Problem Solving and Excellence in Teaching is dedicated to creating avenues for students to explore and learn about social change and innovation. Scholars have participated in programs with the Clinton Global Initiative University, Unity Hoops Basketball, the Maryland House of Delegates, and the American Friends Service Committee, among others.

• Guilford graduates are prepared for life after college, as evidenced by 85% of our alumni attending graduate school or having full-time employment within six months of graduation. Our pre-professional students also experience a 75% admission rate to medical school (well above the 47% national average), and at least 90% of our Education Studies students are hired to teach within a year of graduation.
• Guilfordians have or are currently attending medical school at UNC Chapel Hill, University of Dundee, Scotland, University of Texas at Austin, Johns Hopkins University, and many more.

• Guilford alumni are living their passions all over the world. Biology major Darby Kozan is pursuing a Ph.D. at Johns Hopkins University. English and Media Studies major Beatriz Caldas performed an internship at Disney World before heading to graduate school at City University New York.
